What you'll do

  • Design automation and control systems for both electrical infrastructure (EPMS, MV Power) and mechanical systems (BAS, chilled water plants).
  • Author and improve technical specifications and sequences of operations for new and existing control systems.
  • Configure and program PLCs, PACs, and DDC controllers across multiple electrical and mechanical platforms.
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical data into the Ignition-based HMI environment using MQTT protocols.
  • Oversee the commissioning of all control systems to ensure they meet design intent before operational handoff.
  • Troubleshoot control issues by analyzing operational data and implementing corrective actions for facility reliability.
  • Act as a technical liaison between design teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors to drive project deliverables.
  • Provide training and mentorship to operations personnel regarding control systems and the DCIS environment.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with control systems in data centers or mission-critical environments for both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience programming DDC/PLC controllers and redlining controls drawings.
  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages including Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, and Instruction List.
  • Knowledge of high-availability electrical systems (EPMS, MV PDCS) and mechanical systems (chilled water plants, BAS).
  • Experience with field communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and IEC 61850.
  • Familiarity with MQTT, Inductive Automation's Ignition platform, and Python scripting for data analysis or system integration.
  • Proficiency with AI tools for specification authoring, coding assistance, and predictive fault detection.
