As a Connectivity Engineer within the Deployment Operations organization, you will design and maintain diverse networking infrastructure for a suite of deployed products including aircraft, ground systems, UAVs, and space systems. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to perform technical due diligence, select appropriate network architectures, source hardware, and oversee implementation during demonstration events. Your daily work involves calculating RF link budgets, assessing risk for lost links, and managing complex network laydowns across various media such as fiber, MANET, military SATCOM, LEO satellite internet, microwave backhaul, and 3G/4G/5G cell networks. The role requires expertise in Layer 3 network design, technical communication, and problem-solving at the interface of hardware and software. Preferred skills include experience with mesh networking, NSA Type 1 encryption, FIPS compliance, and DoD-managed network enclaves like NIPR and SIPR.

What you'll do

  • Architect connectivity solutions in collaboration with customers and their networking engineers.
  • Calculate RF link budgets and assess risks of lost links for various mission requirements.
  • Design and maintain complex network laydowns for ground systems, UAVs, and space systems.
  • Source, evaluate, and maintain a diverse range of networking equipment and services.
  • Oversee network implementation during demonstration events and production site bring-ups.
  • Perform technical due diligence to ensure correct network architecture is selected for specific missions.
  • Support the sustainment of production data links using specialized subject matter expertise.

What we're looking for

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in RF or network engineering.
  • Must possess an understanding of Layer 3 network design.
  • Must have experience with externally-facing technical communication.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Preferred experience includes generating link budgets and familiarity with mesh networking or MANETs.
  • Preferred knowledge of DoD-managed network enclaves, NSA Type 1 encryption, or FIPS compliance.
  • Preferred experience in InfoSec or computer security.
