The Connected Factory Engineer joins the Connected Factory Engineering team to provide technical stewardship for key integration capabilities and platforms across Manufacturing Operations. This role involves progressing the technical roadmap of platforms, accelerating maturity of integrations between critical shopfloor components, and advancing data availability for advanced use cases. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing processes, gathering requirements, designing technical capabilities, developing system documentation, and executing test protocols. The position requires proficiency with Ignition, OSI PI, Kepware, HighByte, and AWS Cloud Services. Candidates must manage APIs, IT/OT convergence, MQTT real-time data streaming, Unified Namespace management, data historization, and event-driven services. The work focuses on solving technical integration problems within a manufacturing environment to ensure systems operate effectively, securely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Analyze existing solutions and processes to identify areas for optimization.
Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Design and engineer technical capabilities to meet specific business needs.
Develop system documentation including user manuals, architecture drawings, and technical specifications.

Author and implement deployment instructions across various supported platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users or triggered by alerts.

What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of experience as a Developer, Systems Analyst/Admin, or Engineer/Integrator.
Master's degree in a related field with experience.
Experience working with Ignition, Kepware, OSI PI, HighByte, and/or AWS Cloud Services.
High proficiency in software design, programming languages, data integration, data warehousing, data analysis, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments.
Excellent analytical, communication, and consultative skills with a high focus on deliverables and detail.
Exceptional teamwork skills.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (preferred).
Experience in pharma, healthcare, or a regulated industry (preferred).
