What you'll do

  • Design and implement complex backend services within a cloud-native, microservices-based environment.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance reliability, scalability, performance, and operability across different regions and clouds.
  • Manage projects end-to-end from initial requirements and design through implementation and production rollout.
  • Improve service reliability by defining SLOs/SLAs and strengthening observability and telemetry systems.
  • Define APIs, integration points, and data models to ensure platform consistency and evolvability.
  • Drive engineering productivity by developing tools, automation, and improved internal processes.
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience building, scaling, and operating backend systems in production.
  • Proficiency in a major backend language like Java, Go, C/C++, or Python with strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with distributed systems including event-driven architectures, high-throughput services, and large-scale data pipelines.
  • Experience running services in public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership, including architecture decisions, project ownership, and mentoring other engineers.
  • Experience with observability (metrics, logging, tracing), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies (preferred).
