The Configuration Engineer Advisor will join the Wellpoint Federal division to administer, support, and improve enterprise engineering, configuration management, and DevSecOps platforms. This role involves managing platform availability, upgrades, patching, licensing, and user support for critical tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, and IBM Rational ClearQuest. The successful candidate will handle source-code management, repository governance, and release-management practices while developing operational documentation and automation for recurring administrative tasks. Technical requirements include hands-on experience with Atlassian Data Center products, CI/CD pipelines, and artifact management. Additionally, the position supports enterprise cloud environments and emerging AI platform administration. The work focuses on maintaining production operations and ensuring reliable failover support for engineering platforms across production and non-production environments to solve complex healthcare service challenges.
Administer and support enterprise engineering platforms including Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog Artifactory.
Manage platform configurations, user access, permissions, licenses, and integrations for all engineering tools.
Plan and execute platform upgrades, security patches, and production changes.
Provide production support by troubleshooting issues and coordinating incident resolution with infrastructure and security teams.
Support source-code management, version control, branching strategies, and release-management practices.
Develop and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, and configuration standards.
Automate recurring administrative activities to improve platform reliability and user experience.
Support the administration and operational readiness of enterprise cloud and AI platforms.
What we're looking for
Requires a BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 6 years of IT experience.
Requires a combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background to the degree and experience requirements.
Requires at least 2 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise Atlassian platforms, specifically Jira and Confluence.
Requires 2+ years of experience supporting source-code management, CI/CD, artifact-management, platform upgrades, patching, access administration, change management, and production support.
Requires foreign national applicants to have lived in the United States for at least three of the past five years.
Experience administering Atlassian Data Center deployments of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket is preferred.
Experience supporting Linux-based enterprise applications, IBM Rational ClearQuest, and middleware components like WebSphere is preferred.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), AI/ML platforms, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is preferred.
