JOB TITLE: Component Engineer
The Component Engineer joins the Production Solution team to support development and production programs for radar systems, seekers, and electronic warfare systems. This role involves managing the selection, qualification, and lifecycle of electronic components within a systems engineering and configuration management environment. Daily responsibilities include maintaining standard parts databases, researching electronic and electromechanical components, and providing technical information for engineering selection. The engineer will support component qualification, screening, and failure investigations while monitoring GIDEP alerts for obsolescence and availability. Key skills include understanding RF, microwave, digital, and analog technologies, as well as interpreting datasheets and industry standards like IPC, JEDEC, and MIL-STD. Proficiency with tools such as OrCAD, Cadence, Silicon Expert, and PLM or ERP systems like Teamcenter, Omnify, or Costpoint is preferred.
Manage the selection, qualification, and lifecycle of electronic components for radar and seeker systems.
Maintain the standard parts database and component management tools used for identifying and evaluating qualified parts.
Create and maintain component specifications, source control documents, and other technical documentation.
Research electronic and electromechanical components to provide technical data for engineering selection.
Support component qualification and screening activities in accordance with customer and Parts, Materials and Processes requirements.
Monitor component availability, lifecycle status, obsolescence, and alternate sources to support program needs.
Monitor GIDEP alerts and evaluate their impact on development and production programs.
Perform component failure investigations and root cause analysis under the direction of senior engineering personnel.
What we're looking for
BS degree from an accredited program in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering or technical field.
2-4 years of experience in industry supporting concept and layout design phases with expertise in parts and materials.
Basic understanding of electronic components and their applications, including RF, microwave, digital, and analog technologies.
Familiarity with electronic components, materials, manufacturing processes, and component qualification or screening concepts.
Ability to research and interpret component specifications, datasheets, drawings, and industry standards.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Familiarity with ECAD/design tools such as OrCAD, Cadence, or SPICE (preferred).
