As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will join the team to translate customer IT needs into actionable architecture products while modernizing legacy systems and managing cloud migrations for Naval infrastructure. You will lead the design, development, and integration of ashore and afloat network and cloud-agnostic system architectures. Your daily responsibilities include conducting system assessments, troubleshooting issues, creating technical documentation, and developing detailed workload migration plans with risk assessments. The role requires expertise in Red Hat and Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization platforms, SAN, HCI, and backup or DR architectures. You will utilize infrastructure as code principles to manage secure AWS and Azure cloud environments while ensuring DoD cybersecurity compliance through RMF or STIGs. Key technical skills include knowledge of Voice, Video, and IP-based communications systems, along with experience in automation, orchestration, and digital engineering.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate ashore and afloat network and cloud-agnostic system architectures.
  • Translate customer IT needs into actionable architecture products and technical plans.
  • Lead the design of Windows Server-based enterprise IT systems and management tools.
  • Develop detailed workload migration plans including timelines, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct system assessments and troubleshoot issues to recommend performance enhancements.
  • Create technical documentation, diagrams, and reports for project stakeholders.
  • Oversee implementation phases to ensure strict adherence to architectural compliance.
  • Mentor junior developers to help them grow into future solutions architects.

What we're looking for

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+, CCNASecurity, GSEC, or SSCP) within 30 days of start date.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise systems engineering, development, or maintenance.
  • Experience with Red Hat/Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization platforms, or hybrid cloud services.
  • Experience with architecture, design, or implementation of secure AWS or Azure cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of SAN, HCI, backup/DR architectures, and Voice, Video, and IP-based communication systems.
  • Ability to support tactical IT environments with DoD cybersecurity compliance (RMF or STIGs) and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Experience applying core systems engineering concepts, advanced certifications (CASP+ or CISSP), or a Master's degree (preferred).
  • Secret clearance.
