The Cloud Solution Engineer, Data Platform and OCI - State and Local Government joins the North America Cloud Engineering organization to serve as a strategic presales technical leader. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to government executives, identifying strategic opportunities, and architecting multi-cloud data strategies. You will lead technical discovery, design enterprise-scale architectures, and conduct workshops to modernize legacy environments. Key responsibilities include building solutions using Oracle's Data Platform portfolio, OCI IaaS and PaaS services, and DB@ offerings in AWS, Azure, and GCP. You must possess deep expertise in Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, Exadata, AI/ML, data integration, and governance. The role solves critical business challenges for state and local government entities, focusing on regulatory requirements, risk management, and digital transformation through secure, high-performance cloud infrastructure.
Architect multi-cloud data strategies using Oracle Database@AWS, Oracle Database@Azure, and Oracle Database@GCP.
Lead technical discovery sessions to identify customer business objectives, architecture challenges, and transformation initiatives.
Design enterprise-scale architectures spanning databases, analytics, AI, data integration, and governance.
Develop executive-level presentations, solution strategies, and business value assessments for government stakeholders.
Lead customer workshops, architecture reviews, proof-of-concepts, and technical validation activities.
Serve as the technical lead for strategic pursuits by coordinating cross-functional Oracle resources.
Demonstrate how Oracle's Data Platform portfolio modernizes legacy environments and improves operational efficiency.
Provide industry expertise on government regulatory requirements, risk management, and AI-driven innovation.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in solution engineering, enterprise architecture, consulting, cloud architecture, or related customer-facing technical roles.
Deep expertise in enterprise data platforms, cloud databases, analytics, AI/ML, data integration, governance, and modernization initiatives.
Working knowledge of multicloud architectures and major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, and GCP), including experience positioning Oracle Database@ offerings.
Strong understanding of State and Local Government Industry business processes, regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and digital transformation priorities.
Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex technical pursuits and engage senior executives such as CIOs, CTOs, and CDOs.
Exceptional communication, presentation, storytelling, and executive engagement skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
Located in the Northern California area (preferred).
