As a Cloud Security Engineer, Senior, you will join the team to develop cloud-based security architectures for mission-critical systems within the Intelligence Community. You will perform hands-on engineering tasks including evaluating and supporting documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes to ensure information technology systems meet specific information assurance requirements. Your daily work involves analyzing state information against risk thresholds, advising leaders on codifying strategic objectives into doctrine, and assessing software for assurance best practices. You will implement the architectures and tools you help define while utilizing cloud-native functionality, COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools. Required technical skills include experience with the Risk Management Framework, Agile environments, and infrastructure code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep. This role focuses on securing complex hybrid and cloud-based resources for high-stakes government information systems.
Develop and implement cloud-based security architectures for mission-critical systems.
Evaluate and support documentation, validation, and accreditation processes to ensure IT systems meet security requirements.
Analyze actual system states against defined risk thresholds to assess compliance.
Advise leadership on codifying strategic objectives into formal doctrine and procedures.
Evaluate computer applications and software to ensure they follow software assurance best practices.
Research and recommend tools and capabilities based on current cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
Implement the specific security architectures, tools, and processes defined during the design phase.
What we're looking for
Must have 5+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments using cloud-native, COTs, GOTS, and open-source tools.
Experience developing and evaluating security documentation including system security plans, contingency plans, and continuity of operations plans.
Experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Knowledge of Infrastructure code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Must meet specific education and experience combinations: HS diploma with 7+ years IT experience, Associate’s with 5+ years, Bachelor’s with 3+ years, or Master’s with 1+ year of IT experience.
Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification (e.g., SecurityX, CASP+, CISA, CISSP, or CCSP) within 30 days of start date.
Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification (e.g., CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND) within 30 days of start date.
