Chief Engineer, Radar joins the Battlespace Awareness Radar team to drive the development of innovative radar solutions for defense missions. This role involves owning stakeholder engagement, product definition, technical roadmap planning, and overseeing the design and development approach for critical radar offerings. The successful candidate will manage technical ownership by navigating trade-offs and requirements while coordinating with functional leads to prioritize engineering efforts for prototyping and operational delivery. Key responsibilities include building relationships with internal and external partners to align objectives and define winning product strategies. Required expertise includes a deep understanding of state-of-the-art radar technologies, RF systems, and the software development lifecycle. The role requires proficiency in technical design, modeling and simulation tools, and JIRA or Confluence. Candidates must possess experience taking radar products from concept to deployment within the defense sector.
Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry partners to align objectives and secure buy-in.
Drive radar architecture and product development strategies by evaluating technical tradeoffs and innovation opportunities.
Define a winning product strategy that delivers differentiated value to customers in the marketplace.
Develop and communicate the "how" and "why" behind the product development roadmap.
Organize and prioritize engineering efforts to optimize resource utilization across functional teams.
Lead the tactical execution of prototyping, development, and operational delivery of radar products.
Translate customer needs and technical requirements into actionable design and development plans.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 4 years experience as a Chief Engineer, Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, Engineering Manager, or Engineer of radar or RF sensors.
Demonstrated understanding of radar system design and state-of-the-art technologies for defense missions.
Experience in the design and development of radar or other RF systems from concept to deployment.
Ability to develop technical roadmaps and shape strategic pursuits.
Strong technical aptitude to understand software development lifecycles, designs, risks, and requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Graduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software engineering, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
