The Cellular RF Transmitter Systems Engineer joins the RF Transmitter Systems Engineering team to assess, specify, and drive transmitter concepts focused on performance and quality for wireless products. Key responsibilities include defining RF control infrastructure, researching and prototyping machine learning models such as neural networks and reinforcement learning for power control and digital pre-distortion, and developing simulation environments in Python or MATLAB. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of 3GPP standards like GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR, along with experience in transceiver architecture and digital signal processing. The role addresses technical challenges in transmitter system-level concepts, including calibration, envelope tracking, and SoC integration constraints within the cellular radio domain.
Translate system and performance requirements into specific transmitter features and RF algorithm specifications.
Define RF control infrastructure including compute resources, interfaces, memory, and timing constraints.
Research, design, and prototype machine learning models for power control, calibration, and digital pre-distortion.
Develop and maintain simulation environments in Python or MATLAB to model RF systems and test AI algorithms.
Analyze simulation data to evaluate performance, identify trade-offs, and propose technical improvements.
Specify RF algorithms such as power control and calibration for RFICs and system firmware.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement.
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of cellular radio and 3GPP standards including GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A, and 5G NR.
Familiarity with RF systems, transceiver architecture, and component-level trade-offs like gain, linearity, noise, power, and thermal.
Background in digital signal processing.
Experience with machine learning techniques including neural networks, reinforcement learning, and classical methods for regression and classification.
Ability to develop and maintain simulation environments using Python or MATLAB.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across global teams.
