TL;DR · Camera Power Engineer

The Camera Power Engineer joins the Multimedia Power team to focus on the analysis, budgeting, and optimization of power consumption across various multimedia use cases including camera systems, video encoding and decoding, and computer vision technologies. This role involves defining hardware core-level power targets, performing pre-RTL estimation, and conducting post-silicon validation to ensure accuracy in power models. The engineer will utilize industry-standard tools such as Synopsys PrimePower, Ansys Power Artist, and Siemens PowerPro while leveraging deep learning and machine learning techniques to predict consumption for next-generation platforms. Key technical requirements include a strong grasp of synthesis and physical design processes, SoC architectures, and system-level design principles. The role addresses the critical challenge of balancing performance and efficiency across diverse product applications including mobile, automotive, compute, extended reality, and internet of things devices.

What you'll do

  • Establish hardware core-level power targets and drive optimization strategies throughout the SoC execution process.
  • Analyze and estimate power consumption using tools like Synopsys PrimePower, Ansys Power Artist, and Siemens PowerPro.
  • Validate power estimates by correlating them with actual silicon measurements on target platforms.
  • Use machine learning techniques to model and predict power consumption for next-generation multimedia platforms.
  • Provide ongoing support for average and peak power estimation from pre-RTL stages to post-silicon validation.
  • Define and refine multimedia use cases in coordination with System Architects, Design Engineers, and Verification teams.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with low power design techniques including setting hardware core targets and pre-silicon estimation.
  • Experience with post-silicon power measurement and validation.
  • Deep understanding of tools such as Synopsys PrimePower, Ansys Power Artist, and Siemens PowerPro.
  • Solid grasp of synthesis and physical design processes related to power optimization.
  • Knowledge of multimedia IPs including camera systems, video codecs, and computer vision technologies.
  • Familiarity with SoC architectures and system-level design principles.
  • Experience with hardware design and verification tools (preferred).
