As a Back-End Storage Developer within the Storage Development Business of the Infrastructure organization, you will join Ceph development teams to provide high-level technical support and sustaining services. Additionally, you will leverage technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana to maintain and tune clusters. Your work focuses on solving complex storage infrastructure challenges and providing critical technical guidance for large-scale data systems.

What you'll do

  • Resolve highly escalated cases from support teams to improve customer experience on critical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to L2 support engineers.
  • Fix customer-reported bugs within Ceph development teams to ensure product quality.
  • Deliver consistent status updates and high-quality sustaining services to the L2 team.
  • Collaborate with product management to integrate requested features and fixes into the product roadmap.
  • Submit upstream patches to resolve identified customer issues in the codebase.
  • Perform Linux storage system administration, including configuration, maintenance, and log debugging.
  • Configure and tune Ceph clusters using knowledge of RADOS, CephFS, and RBD.

What we're looking for

  • Master's Degree (preferred).
  • Experience as an engineering support, sustaining, or development engineer or in a related role.
  • Basic Linux Storage System administration experience including installation, configuration, maintenance, and BASH scripting.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and scripting skills in Python or Bash.
  • Knowledge of Ceph storage architecture, components, deployment, RADOS, CephFS, and RBD.
  • Experience with Ceph, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (preferred).
  • Experience with open source projects, monitoring tools, and AI/ML exposure (preferred).
