JOB TITLE: Automation Engineer, Officer As a senior member of a Scrum team within the Quality Assurance Infrastructure team, you will build out the next generation of software test automation infrastructure. You will develop, deliver, and support infrastructure for automated product validation, including planning and executing central automated regression runs for all product departments. Your daily work involves creating automation scripts from business requirements, executing functional, integration, regression, and performance tests, and maintaining test libraries. You will utilize Java, TypeScript, SQL, PowerShell, and Bash, with a preference for Playwright. You will also leverage AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot. This role addresses the technical challenge of moving from monolithic software to cloud-based technology using Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake within a financial services investment platform.

What you'll do

Create comprehensive test automation scripts from business requirements and functional specifications for product features.
Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
Maintain automated and manual test script libraries for various testing types.
Log, track, and triage defects with well-documented, reproducible steps.
Identify gaps, edge cases, and potential risks early in the development life cycle.
Interpret automation test results and communicate software defects to developers and project team members.
Research and recommend new automation approaches, including the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Guide and mentor junior staff in the proper creation of automated test scripts.

What we're looking for

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Business with an MIS background.
MS degree is strongly preferred.
6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment.
Strong programming and scripting skills using Java, TypeScript, SQL, PowerShell, and Bash.
Hands-on experience designing and executing automated tests for Web, Desktop, APIs, and Batch applications, with Playwright strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of SaaS-based applications, cloud technologies, and AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps) and Git version control.
Financial services industry experience is preferred.
