As an Automation & Controls Engineer, Assembly Manufacturing (Starlink), you will join a team focused on creating high-rate factories for satellite production. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects involving machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring. Your daily responsibilities include managing automation projects from initial ideation through commissioning, writing and debugging structured PLC code, designing electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A regulations, and creating user-friendly HMI screens. You will work with technologies including Beckhoff TwinCAT, EtherCAT, Profinet, Profisafe, Ethernet/IP, and ABB robotics programming. The role also involves integrating SCADA, IoT protocols like MQTT and OPC-UA, and managing systems involving sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics. You will solve complex manufacturing challenges by ensuring safety compliance for gantries and conveyors while developing reliable, high-volume production infrastructure for the Starlink satellite constellation.
