As an Automation & Controls Engineer (Starlink), you will join the Starlink Tooling and Automation team to develop high-impact applications for high-volume satellite production. What you'll do

Design, build, and implement machine designs, robotics, and manufacturing processes from ideation to production.
Architect, write, and debug PLC code for industrial automation systems.
Implement vision systems for robotic guidance, quality control, and data collection.
Create electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics for control panels.
Design user interfaces to make complex machines easy to operate and troubleshoot.
Develop systems to track factory performance and improve manufacturing efficiency using data.
Ensure factory safety by implementing ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant systems.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or another STEM discipline.
1+ years of experience in the design and commissioning of automation and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for export control authorizations.
Experience with industrial automation hardware including PLCs, robots, motion control, and pneumatic controls (preferred).
Proficiency in field bus networking protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, or Modbus (preferred).
Ability to program PLC systems, preferably using Beckhoff TwinCAT structured text (preferred).
Experience with robotics programming, specifically ABB Rapid (preferred).
Skills in HMI, SCADA, IoT, SQL, C#, .NET, Python, and machine vision software like Cognex Vision Pro (preferred).
