As an Automation & Controls Engineer, Insource Manufacturing (Starlink), you will join the Materials Engineering group to develop and implement technologies supporting high-volume production and rapid product iteration for a low latency, broadband internet system. You will design, manage, and commission automation projects while owning safety strategies compliant with ANSI/RIA15.06 and OSHA standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and debugging PLC code, creating HMI screens, designing electrical systems per NEC and UL508A regulations, and managing pneumatic and fluid plumbing. You will utilize tools such as Siemens NX for 3D CAD, EPlan for electrical schematics, and Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens TIA Portal for PLC programming. Preferred skills include experience with C#, .NET, Python, SQL, Ignition SCADA, and ABB robot programming to solve complex manufacturing challenges across injection molding, die casting, and stamping processes.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and manage automation projects for high-volume manufacturing.
Manage specifications, costs, lead times, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
Develop and debug structured, maintainable PLC code for industrial applications.
Create aesthetically simple HMI screens to simplify machine operation and troubleshooting.
Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A regulations.
Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic plumbing, and fluid systems.
Debug and perform root-cause analysis for equipment in high-rate production environments.
Create and maintain technical documentation and drawings for operational hand-offs.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
1+ years of experience in the design and commissioning of controls systems for industrial applications.
Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
Experience with process integration and electromechanical/mechatronic systems (preferred).
Robot programming experience, preferably ABB (preferred).
Programming experience in C#, .NET, Python, and/or SQL (preferred).
PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming experience, preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens TIA Portal (preferred).
Experience with 3D CAD, specifically Siemens NX (preferred).
