Associate General Counsel, Policy

What you'll do

• Develop proactive advocacy positions on emerging policy issues like AI regulation and cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate with law firms, consultants, and coalition partners to execute winning policy campaigns.
• Build high-trust relationships with key policymakers at federal and state levels.
• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation and regulations affecting defense technology and procurement.
• Provide legal analysis on regulatory frameworks impacting autonomous systems and export controls.

What we're looking for

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (DC Bar preferred)
• 7-10 years of legal and public policy experience in federal defense policy or technology regulation
• Deep understanding of FAR/DFARS, contract vehicles, software acquisition approaches, and data rights issues
• Proven ability to navigate complex political dynamics with strong political acumen
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical and legal issues to policymakers and general audiences
• Record of cultivating cross-sector partnerships and building coalitions in industry, government, and advocacy organizations
• Quick learner capable of operating independently in a fast-paced, high-impact environment
