Associate Director, AI Quality And Governance – R&D Data Science & Digital Health joins the R&D organization to drive enterprise-aligned AI governance across Data Science and Digital Health. The role involves creating playbooks, toolkits, and standardized guidance while establishing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of risk-based assessments. Key responsibilities include partnering with cross-functional teams in legal, regulatory affairs, and technology to streamline workflows and promote responsible AI practices. Candidates must possess expertise in AI/ML model development, monitoring, and global regulatory frameworks like FDA or EU AI Act. Required skills include advanced analytics, data privacy standards, strategic thinking, and experience navigating complex, regulated environments such as pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
Develop and maintain an AI governance roadmap to support R&D strategy and manage risks.

What we're looking for
Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.
Additional training or certification in AI ethics, governance, or regulatory compliance.
6 to 8+ years of experience in AI, data science, analytics, machine learning, or related fields.
Experience leading, partnering with, or delivering AI-driven solutions, preferably in a regulated industry like pharma, healthcare, or biotech (preferred).
Proven track record of leading AI governance initiatives and processes for model lifecycle management and deployment in a regulated environment.
Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks for medical products and AI, such as FDA, EMA, ICH, EU AI Act, and ISO/IEC standards.
Deep understanding of AI/ML and GenAI model development, deployment, monitoring, and risk assessment.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including regulatory affairs, IT, data science, and product development in a matrixed organization.
