Associate Cybersecurity Specialist – 2027 works within the IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers to help public and private sector clients protect critical systems, data, and operations from evolving cyber threats. This role focuses on enabling secure digital transformation and AI adoption while strengthening client cyber resilience through threat detection, security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, governance, risk, compliance, and security assessments. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of analysts and architects to solve complex security challenges across various industries like healthcare and finance. Required skills include a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, networking, operating systems, and information security concepts. Candidates should possess an understanding of common cyber threats, vulnerability management, and identity and access management. The role also requires familiarity with cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and generative AI to address the risks associated with emerging technologies in modern enterprise environments.

What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Must possess foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, networking, operating systems, and information security concepts.
Must understand common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and security best practices.
Must have exposure to security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, identity and access management, or risk management through coursework or projects.
Must have a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and the risks associated with emerging technologies.
Must have exposure to cloud technologies, enterprise environments, or cybersecurity tools through coursework, labs, certifications, or personal learning.
Must demonstrate application of cybersecurity, technical, or analytical skills through coursework, labs, projects, competitions, research, or internships.
Experience with cyber operations, threat management, governance, risk, compliance, or security frameworks is preferred.
