The Architecture Principal - Platform Infrastructure is a senior technical leader who guides the development and operation of cloud and technology systems. You will manage the DevOps and Infrastructure team, setting the roadmap, rules, and standard patterns for cloud accounts, environments, and tools. Your primary responsibility involves leading a comprehensive migration to AWS, including lift-and-shift operations, account governance, and cost control. You will partner with Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports developer needs, reliability, and resiliency. Key requirements include expertise in AWS, DevOps practices, cloud account governance, tagging, and access controls. You will solve complex infrastructure problems, review designs, and coordinate with finance partners on cloud costs while ensuring all solutions follow established security rules and company architecture.

What you'll do

  • Set and maintain the vision, standard patterns, and roadmap for infrastructure and DevOps across the platform engineering organization.
  • Lead the end-to-end migration of on-premises and existing cloud workloads to AWS.
  • Establish and enforce standards for AWS account governance, including tagging, access controls, guardrails, and cost management.
  • Manage the DevOps and Infrastructure team by setting priorities, coaching members, and reviewing technical designs.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering and SRE teams to align roadmaps and ensure infrastructure supports developer needs.
  • Identify and solve complex infrastructure problems that require platform-level solutions rather than team-specific fixes.
  • Coordinate with FinOps and AWS partners to manage cloud credits and migration-related incentive programs.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Experience designing and leading cloud infrastructure, especially on AWS.
  • Experience leading cloud migrations, including lift-and-shift and modernization.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Understanding of cloud account governance, including tagging, access controls, guardrails, and cost management.
  • Familiarity with platform engineering and site reliability practices.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and guiding a technical team.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders through expertise, teamwork, and credibility.
