JOB TITLE: Applied Science: PhD Internship Opportunities - Multiple Locations
As an Applied Science: PhD Internship Opportunities - Multiple Locations, you will join a team to analyze and improve the performance of advanced algorithms on large-scale datasets. You will identify key challenges within product scenarios, translate them into machine learning tasks, and design experimental processes for optimization. Your daily work involves implementing prototypes of scalable systems in AI applications and preparing high-quality datasets by reviewing technical constraints. You will utilize skills in statistics, econometrics, computer science, or electrical engineering to support feature ideation and data preparation. The role requires experience with controlled experiments, offline and online evaluation metrics, and large-scale distributed systems. You will apply research in language models, recommender systems, geospatial intelligence, or content and commerce systems to improve relevance and personalization.
Analyze and improve the performance of advanced machine learning algorithms on large-scale datasets.
Translate product goals and scenarios into specific machine learning tasks and experimental designs.
Implement prototypes of scalable systems for AI applications.
Prepare and clean datasets by reviewing quality criteria and addressing technical constraints.
Support the scaling of feature ideation and data preparation for modeling purposes.
Run controlled experiments and interpret both offline and online evaluation metrics.
Productionize applied science solutions using large-scale distributed systems.
Research state-of-the-art solutions to address specific product challenges.
What we're looking for
Currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
Must have been enrolled in a full-time bachelor's, masters, MBA, or PhD program in a relevant area during the academic term immediately before the internship.
Experience with research publications, coursework, or projects relevant to search, language models, recommender systems, geospatial intelligence, or content and commerce systems (preferred).
Experience running controlled experiments and interpreting offline and online evaluation metrics (preferred).
Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems or productionizing applied science solutions (preferred).
Ability to analyze and improve performance of advanced algorithms on large-scale datasets and cutting-edge research in machine intelligence.
Ability to design experimental processes for iteration and optimization and implement prototypes of scalable systems in AI applications.
