The Applied AI & Business Innovation Intern joins the Advanced Service Technology team to explore how emerging technologies improve automotive service experiences and business processes. This role involves identifying opportunities to improve existing workflows by partnering with business subject-matter experts to understand pain points and unmet needs. The intern will rapidly prototype, test, and refine AI-assisted solutions while evaluating existing AI-enabled tools for usability, quality, and adoption. Key responsibilities include developing and presenting findings, prototypes, and business cases to Dealer Support leadership. Candidates should possess skills in data analysis, process improvement, and innovation projects. The work focuses on solving real-world business challenges through applied AI, rapid experimentation, and translating complex observations into practical pilots or process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experiences.
Identify opportunities to improve existing business processes using applied AI and emerging technologies.
Partner with subject-matter experts to understand current workflows, pain points, and unmet needs.
Rapidly prototype, test, and refine AI-assisted solutions and new ways of working.
Evaluate existing AI-enabled tools for usability, quality, adoption, and potential enhancements.
Develop and present findings, prototypes, business cases, and recommendations to Dealer Support leadership.
Translate observations and insights into practical prototypes, pilots, or process improvements.
What we're looking for
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Innovation/Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Must be entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to perform work onsite at Franklin, TN.
Must possess strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills for working with non-technical business stakeholders.
Must have an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Experience with AI tools, data analysis, process improvement, or innovation projects is preferred.
