Application Support Engineer

What you'll do

• Identify and resolve complex software issues within critical business systems to maintain stability and performance.
• Act as a subject matter expert to provide technical solutions that impact multiple teams.
• Lead collaborative efforts across departments to ensure the timely resolution of critical incidents.
• Perform L2 and L3 break-fix activities, service requests, and problem management for mainframe applications.
• Conduct daily system integrity verifications, including cash feed reconciliations and interface feed checks.
• Develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures to improve service quality.
• Propose enhancements to processes and tools based on the identification of recurring problems.
• Provide expert guidance and knowledge sharing to support team members and foster a learning culture.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of work experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering Support is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Mainframe application programming across the Johnson Controls suite, including CARMS, Walker Interactive, and ADMIN, is required.
• Proficiency in Db2, CICS, MQ, RACF security, and disaster recovery planning is required.
• Proficiency in IMS, Db2, COBOL, Java, CICS, MQ, Assembler, CA7, REXX, FTP, and SFTP is required.
• Experience in Application Remediation is recommended (preferred).
• Master proficiency in IT Troubleshooting is suggested (preferred).
