The Application Security Modernization Consultant joins the security team to help organizations transform legacy systems into cloud-first models. You will lead the migration and modernization of .NET apps, Linux web apps, Java apps, and SQL databases to public, private, or hybrid cloud environments. Your daily responsibilities include designing secure architectures, implementing shift-left DevSecOps principles, and developing advanced policies and automation to safeguard applications from unauthorized access or disruption. You will utilize a technical toolkit including SAST, SCA, DAST, ASPM, CNAPP, WAF, Secrets Scanning, Container Scanning, API Security Scanning, and Infrastructure as Code scanning. Additionally, you will implement AI agents and harnesses while conducting comprehensive security assessments to ensure compliance and resilience against evolving threats throughout the secure software development lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Design modern security architectures for .NET, Linux, Java, and SQL database applications in cloud environments.
  • Provide technical expertise to migrate legacy applications to public, private, or hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Implement DevSecOps principles and integrate security measures throughout the secure software development lifecycle.
  • Deliver application security solutions that include the implementation of AI agents and harnesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments for modernized environments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement advanced policies, automation, and tool integrations to safeguard modernized applications.
  • Coach and develop junior application security practitioners while contributing reusable assets and thought leadership.
  • Communicate client security needs and project objectives effectively to the engagement team.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in application security with a focus on modernizing security frameworks and cloud DevSecOps.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience migrating, assessing, and securing .NET, Java, SAP, and SQL databases in cloud settings.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with security tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, ASPM, CNAPP, WAF, and Secrets Scanning.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years work experience).
  • Associate's degree requires a minimum of 6 years of work experience.
  • Experience in a consultant/advisory capacity, with Big Four experience being an asset (preferred).
  • Expert knowledge of the Secure SDLC and foundational understanding of AI application design (preferred).
