TL;DR · Application Calibration Engineer

The Application Calibration Engineer joins the team to manage application and calibration responsibilities for advanced radar and camera based driver assistance systems. This role involves performing vehicle testing, system integration, and requirements engineering for functions like lateral control, predictive emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition. You will lead integration activities, debug systems, and calibrate sensor algorithms using in-vehicle, simulation, and bench environments to meet performance targets. Key technical requirements include proficiency with Vector CANape, MATLAB, CANoe, CANalyzer, and knowledge of embedded C/C++ or Python. You will troubleshoot embedded control systems, analyze vehicle dynamics, and provide technical support to OEMs. The work focuses on solving complex integration challenges for next-generation ADAS technologies, ensuring robust system behavior and interface alignment across various vehicle platforms and public road environments.

What you'll do

  • Perform vehicle testing, system integration, and requirements engineering for radar and camera-based ADAS functions.
  • Lead integration activities and troubleshoot systems using automotive tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, and MATLAB.
  • Calibrate radar and camera sensor algorithms in vehicle, bench, and simulation environments to meet performance targets.
  • Analyze in-vehicle performance issues and propose corrective actions or software logic enhancements.
  • Conduct pre-analysis of customer-reported defects and record vehicle-environment measurements for technical assessment.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for OEMs, delivering presentations and supporting customer test drives.
  • Ensure all system development and validation processes comply with internal guidelines and standards.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or foreign equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems or requirements engineering and release processes within automotive applications.
  • 3+ years of experience using calibration tools for embedded software/controls.
  • Knowledge of driver assistance sensors and functions with a strong interest in emerging ADAS technologies.
  • Hands-on experience using Vector CANape for embedded system calibration.
  • Direct experience troubleshooting embedded control systems integrated into a vehicle platform.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle architecture, vehicle dynamics, and driver-assistance interfaces.
  • Indefinite U.S. work authorization.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (preferred).
  • Ability to understand embedded C/C++ code or Python scripts and make minor software updates (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience conducting lab work, including sensor mounting, vehicle modifications, and wiring (preferred).
