AIML - Senior Operations Program Manager - Responsible AI and Safety joins the Responsible AI team to manage partnerships, vendor relationships, and data operations for Safety Evaluation and Red Teaming programs. The role involves owning the resourcing, scoping, and execution of human-labeled data, workforce calibration, and localization infrastructure for generative AI features. Key responsibilities include managing external vendor portfolios, establishing feedback loops between Red-Teaming and Post-Ship Insights groups, and driving the operational scaling of data infrastructure for safety benchmarking and LLM-judge validation. The candidate will use SQL, spreadsheets, and BI tools to track performance metrics while translating operational needs into infrastructure roadmaps. This position solves the technical challenge of scaling reliable safety evaluations and governing human-labeled goldsets across diverse international markets and cultural contexts.
Manage relationships with internal crowds and external vendor partners for evaluation, red-teaming, and data generation.
Own the scoping, resourcing, and execution of vendor work, including statements of work and quality audits.
Establish processes to connect Red-Teaming, Evaluation, and Post-Ship Insights groups into a unified feedback loop.
Develop and maintain documentation for processes, systems, and data flows across functional areas.
Partner with engineering to translate operational needs into tooling and infrastructure requirements.
Drive the operational scaling of data infrastructure for human-labeled goldsets and LLM-judge validation.
Manage the expansion of data pipelines to new languages, markets, and cultural contexts.
Provide compliant and timely reporting on operational risks and status for Apple Intelligence features.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
5+ years of experience in vendor/partner management, data operations, or program management, ideally supporting ML/AI evaluation, annotation, or data labeling programs.
Demonstrated experience managing external vendor relationships and internal annotation operations at scale, including statements of work, budget, and performance management.
Experience scaling human-labeled data pipelines, including dataset creation, quality calibration, storage, and governance.
Experience standing up or scaling operations across multiple international markets, including working with multilingual and multicultural vendor workforces.
Experience coordinating across functionally distinct teams to close feedback loops and owning documentation to translate operational needs into tooling roadmaps.
Proficiency with data tools like SQL and BI tools to track vendor performance, cost, and data quality metrics.
Experience managing vendor partnerships specifically for AI safety, red-teaming, or Responsible AI programs (preferred).
