Machine Learning Engineer, Answers Knowledge and Information

What you'll do

• Research and develop state-of-the-art deep learning models and LLMs for various Apple products.
• Fine-tune and evaluate domain-specific Large Language Models for tasks like summarization, question answering, and search ranking.
• Translate product requirements into specific modeling and engineering tasks.
• Conduct applied research to transition cutting-edge generative AI research into production-ready technologies.
• Develop models to understand user queries and retrieve/rank relevant information from multiple sources.
• Research and develop LLMs specifically for summarizing personal data like emails, messages, and notifications.
• Implement advanced techniques including RLHF, DPO, LoRA, and hallucination reduction to improve model accuracy.

What we're looking for

• 10 years of work experience in machine learning, deep learning, or a related field.
• Experience modeling user behavior including personalization, online learning, and recommendation systems.
• Experience with LLM development for NLP tasks and RAG applications, including prompt engineering, data collection, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in state-of-the-art LLM fine-tuning techniques like SFT, RLHF, DPO, LoRA, and hallucination reduction (preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience leading complex cross-functional projects and influencing research direction (preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience with large-scale model training, optimization, and deployment (preferred).
