Machine Learning Engineer, Visual Intelligence Technology

What you'll do

• Develop large-scale machine learning and deep learning models to improve search query understanding and ranking.
• Build fundamental building blocks for artificial intelligence using word embeddings and deep learning.
• Implement online learning techniques to ensure systems react quickly to changing data and signals.
• Process petabytes of user data and multi-source information to satisfy specific user intents.
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate domain-specific Large Language Models (LLMs) for Apple products.
• Conduct applied research to transition groundbreaking generative AI research into production-ready technologies.
• Design and optimize machine learning platforms, architectures, and algorithms for various applications.

What we're looking for

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, or data mining.
• 5+ years of experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluating, and developing data collection/annotation/management tooling for LLMs.
• Experience as a tech lead successfully leading a team to ship software to users.
• Excellent knowledge and practical skills in designing ML platforms, architectures, or algorithms.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with iOS/MacOS development (preferred).
• Experience with deep learning software packages like Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch (preferred).
