What you'll do

  • Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate domain-specific Large Language Models for various AI products.
  • Conduct applied research to transition generative AI research into production-ready technologies.
  • Build machine learning models for search relevance, ranking, and query understanding.
  • Translate product requirements into specific modeling tasks and engineering requirements.
  • Build end-to-end production systems for query understanding and ranking to power search features.
  • Perform distributed data processing using tools like Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive, and Impala.
  • Integrate search functions into Apple products such as Siri, Spotlight, Safari, and Messages.

What we're looking for

  • PhD, MS, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, or data mining.
  • Experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluating, and developing data collection/annotation/management tooling for LLMs.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
  • Excellent data analytical skills (preferred).
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player (preferred).
  • A PhD is preferred.
