AI/ML Engineer Co-op

What you'll do

• Lead data collection efforts for Large Language Model (LLM) training and evaluation.
• Integrate LLM technologies into existing and new IBM Automation products.
• Implement cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities across the Automation product portfolio.
• Establish best practices for AI/ML feature implementation with product teams.
• Manage data processing pipelines for large datasets.
• Deploy and monitor models using MLOps practices and tools.
• Design algorithms and evaluate models based on NLP and transformer architectures.

What we're looking for

• Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at the time of application and returning to complete the degree after the co-op.
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) from Jan 19 - May 7 without concurrent coursework.
• Must be available to start a full-time role between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NLP, large language models, transformer architectures, model evaluation, and algorithm design.
• Experience with data processing pipelines, large datasets, and MLOps practices for model deployment and monitoring.
• Coursework or project experience in software development, data structures, algorithms, and version control tools like Git.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud services, REST APIs, databases, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methods.
