JOB TITLE: AI/Machine Learning Engineer
As an AI Software Developer, Early Career, you will join an internal incubator to build a new-to-the-world AI architecture and technical category. Working alongside experienced researchers, you will convert Python research and development code into scalable production components, primarily using Rust. Your daily responsibilities include building unit, integration, and regression tests, implementing stable interfaces within modular architectures, and profiling CPU usage, memory, and latency. You will utilize Python, Rust, C++, containerization, CI/CD, and observability tools to support real-time inference and cloud services. The role involves translating mathematical algorithms into robust software while navigating structured relational, causal, and neural symbolic computation. You will help move foundational research into real-world systems by ensuring performance, scalability, and reproducibility across various embedded and edge environments.
Convert Python research and development code into scalable production components using Rust.
Build and maintain unit, integration, regression, simulation, and reproducibility tests.
Implement stable interfaces and runtime components within a modular architecture.
Profile CPU usage, memory, latency, and throughput to improve system performance and scalability.
Support concurrent execution, Python/Rust interoperability, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
Create components for real-time inference, offline simulations, cloud services, and embedded environments.
Document designs, interfaces, benchmarks, and operating assumptions for maintenance and safety.
Apply knowledge of relational, causal, and neural symbolic computation to production software.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant STEM field or a High School Diploma/GED with five or more years of software development experience.
Must have five years of programming ability in Python and either C++, Rust, or another systems programming language.
Must have three years of experience in core software-engineering practices including version control, code review, debugging, automated testing, and technical documentation.
Hands-on Rust experience or a strong interest and demonstrated ability to learn Rust quickly (preferred).
Experience converting prototypes, research code, simulations, or mathematical algorithms into robust software (preferred).
Coursework or experience in algorithms, data structures, operating systems, concurrency, parallel computing, compilers, graph algorithms, or high-performance computing (preferred).
Experience with Python/Rust or Python/C++ interoperability, containers, Kubernetes, Cloud Providers, CI/CD, databases, or messaging systems (preferred).
