The AI Security Architect - ARC, AIS joins the Apple Information Security Assurance ARC team to provide security architecture guidance for high-risk AI initiatives. You will build pre-approved, reusable security patterns and "paved roads" to enable secure AI adoption across products and services. Daily responsibilities include conducting design reviews, performing threat modeling using methodologies like STRIDE, and evaluating risks such as data poisoning, prompt injection, and model manipulation. You will utilize Python, Swift, or Java to apply AI and LLMs for security automation, including risk analysis and compliance validation. The role requires expertise in Zero Trust principles, Secure by Default frameworks, and regulatory standards like the EU AI Act or NIST AI RMF. You will also codify architectural decisions into an AI-powered Self-Service Enablement Platform.
Own security guidance for high-risk AI initiatives by shaping architecture patterns and conducting design reviews.
Build "paved roads" of pre-approved, reusable, and secure-by-default patterns for AI-driven systems.
Evaluate AI-specific risks including data poisoning, model manipulation, and prompt injection.
Apply AI and LLMs to automate security workflows like threat modeling and control validation.
Codify security decisions and patterns into an AI-powered Self-Service Enablement Platform.
Identify emerging AI/ML technologies and architectural patterns to inform future foundational security focus areas.
Partner with engineering and data science teams to drive the adoption of security requirements.
What we're looking for
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Security, or 6+ years of equivalent hands-on security experience in large enterprise environments.
Strong background in security architecture, application security, or cloud security.
Demonstrated understanding of AI/ML concepts, pipelines, and risks like data poisoning, prompt injection, and model theft.
Experience with threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE) and secure design principles.
Familiarity with AI regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, or ISO/IEC 42001.
Proven ability to partner with engineering, data science, and product teams to drive security requirements.
Experience applying AI/LLMs for security automation such as risk analysis and automated threat modeling.
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language like Python, Swift, or Java.
Experience performing full-stack security architecture reviews for cloud-native and AI/ML technologies (preferred).
Experience designing security patterns for LLM-based systems, RAG pipelines, or agentic architectures (preferred).
Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles and Secure by Default design (preferred).
Experience with data protection, encryption architecture, and key management in AI/ML contexts (preferred).
