JOB TITLE: AI Forward Deployed Engineer
As an AI Forward Deployed Engineer on the Cognizant Consulting team, you will partner directly with clients to design, build, and deploy innovative AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, leading discovery workshops and technical assessments to translate business objectives into scalable solution architectures. Your daily responsibilities include developing cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations. You will specifically build Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions, including AI copilots and autonomous agents. Required skills include proficiency in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go, alongside experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. You will solve complex business problems by driving digital transformation through modern cloud architectures.
Partner with client stakeholders to identify business objectives, operational challenges, and technical requirements.
Lead discovery workshops and technical assessments to create scalable solution architectures and implementation roadmaps.
Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
Build and implement Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
Own technical delivery for client-facing initiatives to ensure production readiness and measurable business outcomes.
Translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions from concept through production deployment.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, customer-facing engineering, or similar roles.
Strong programming expertise in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
Experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, stakeholder management, and client-facing consulting engagements.
Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and driving projects from concept through production deployment.
Experience deploying Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions in enterprise environments (preferred).
Hands-on experience with LLM platforms, AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, vector databases, or RAG architectures (preferred).
