AI Algorithms Research Scientist-Vice President

What you'll do

• Advance algorithmic foundations for large-scale AI model training, inference, and agentic systems.
• Develop novel algorithms to improve accuracy, latency, and compute costs for large language models.
• Establish theoretical grounding for new methods, including convergence and sample-efficiency.
• Implement developed algorithms into performant software and validate them at scale.
• Provide novel research solutions to technical problems faced by internal project teams.
• Document research findings in scientific papers and present them at industry conferences.
• Pursue necessary protections for generated intellectual property to contribute to the firm's IP.

What we're looking for

• Ph.D. degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, statistics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in industry or as a postdoc.
• Demonstrated research ability in AI/ML algorithms, optimization, or theory.
• Deep foundation in optimization, probability, linear algebra, learning theory, and scientific technical writing.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ or CUDA for performance-critical work.
• Experience in efficient learning and inference, optimization, foundations of scale, or hardware-algorithm co-design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings to a non-technical audience.
• Strong publication record in venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, COLT, STOC, FOCS, ISCA, or HPCA (preferred).
