About the role:

We’re hiring a Staff / Senior Staff Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our end-to-end ML platform powering Safety AI and adjacent product areas. This role combines deep platform ownership with direct product impact—enabling teams to build, deploy, and scale ML systems that improve real-world safety outcomes.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States.

In this role, you will:

ML Platform & Infrastructure

  • Design, build, and operate Samsara’s end-to-end ML platform (training, experimentation, batch/online inference, edge) used by multiple Safety AI product teams.
  • Evolve shared training and experimentation infrastructure (orchestration, clusters, environments) and standardize tracking, evaluation, and regression testing for fast, safe iteration.

Experimentation & Measurement

  • Partner with product and applied ML teams to ship ML-powered features (CV models, EcoDriving insights, LLM-based reporting) that improve safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead throughput and cost modeling for new ML features—from exploration to production-scale capacity planning—to inform roadmap and go/no-go decisions.
  • Drive experiment design and evaluation, defining success metrics, structuring A/B or offline tests, and turning results into product and technical decisions.

Inference & Edge Deployment

  • Design and operate scalable online and batch inference systems (Ray, Spark), including deployment patterns, observability, SLOs, and unified training-to-production workflows.
  • Partner with firmware and edge teams to package, validate, and deploy models to Samsara devices, and build feedback loops from edge to cloud for continuous improvement.

Reliability, Security & Operations

  • Own reliability, observability, and security for ML systems across cloud and edge, including on-call practices, incident response, and infrastructure hardening.
  • Own or co-own end-to-end technical delivery for high-priority or high-risk initiatives, from modeling and system design through production rollout.

Leadership & Culture

  • Provide Staff+/Senior-Staff technical leadership on ML infrastructure architecture and strategy, influencing cross-team decisions and mentoring engineers and applied scientists.
  • Drive strong developer experience through documentation, office hours, and best practices, while contributing to and representing Samsara in open source communities (Ray, Spark, RayDP).
  • Champion and role model Samsara’s cultural principles: Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in machine learning engineering or related fields, with a strong track record of building and operating large-scale ML systems.
  • Strong experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Ray and/or Spark.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), containers/Kubernetes, and production observability tooling.
  • Proven experience building or supporting ML platforms (training, experimentation, or inference) used by multiple teams.
  • Solid understanding of ML fundamentals including evaluation, experiment design, and model iteration in production environments.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience shipping ML-powered features end-to-end, from design through production and iteration, with measurable impact on product or business metrics.
  • Background in computer vision and/or LLM-based systems in production environments.
  • Experience with edge or on-device ML and collaboration with firmware or embedded teams.
  • Familiarity with model lifecycle systems (model registry, deployment, monitoring, rollback, drift detection).
  • Experience working in environments with strong security and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead across teams and influence technical direction at Staff+ scope.
  • A strong sense of ownership and a desire for end-to-end autonomy—from platform design to real-world impact.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions. About the role:

The Samsara AI team builds end-to-end AI solutions for our customers as well as core ML infrastructure for Samsara. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will be working with petabyte-scale sensor, diagnostic, video, and text data to solve critical problems for Physical Operations customers, globally. You will work closely with ML Engineers and Scientists, as well as full-stack and firmware engineers to deliver core product features, services, and optimizations.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States. This position requires travel up to 5% of the time. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

  • Develop both tactical AI solutions as well as more strategic and longer term research.
  • Work with petabyte-scale data from customer operations including text, transactions, diagnostics, sensor, camera, and location data.
  • Partner across business units to explore and prototype new AI experiences and optimize the ML model performance on edge devices.
  • Stay connected to industry and academic research and adopt novel technology that suits Samsara’s needs.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
  • Profound experience in optimizing ML models and systems for Edge compute constraints.
  • Proficient with Spark, Ray, or a similar framework.
  • Coding in python or similar.
  • Coding in C++ or Rust.
  • Strong functional knowledge of the iterative machine learning product development process.
  • Experienced in developing and shipping production code at large scale.
  • Ability to distill informal or ambiguous customer and business requirements into crisp problem definitions.
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing to technical peers and leadership teams with various levels of technical knowledge.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring ML Engineers.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Proficiency in self-serving with data for experiments and model training at scale.
  • An established record of successful high impact deliveries in AI.
  • Deep knowledge in state of the art Computer Vision and multi-model models.

About the role:

The Support Tools Product team is responsible for defining the vision, roadmap, and user experience for our core Support tools to drive support experience.

As a Sr. Support Tools Product Manager, you’ll drive strategy, solve ambiguous and high-impact problems across multiple teams, and influence the long-term strategic direction of our sales technology stack. You will own a significant module of our core support tools, delivering substantial impact and contributing significantly to the company's GTM strategy and future.

In this role, you will:

Fully own the success of your tool(s) within Samsara’s revenue stack. This includes:

  • Discovery: Lead deep user research to identify, document, and anticipate core customer support pain points and future GTM tooling needs.
  • Design: Draft comprehensive Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and design artifacts (wireframes), ensuring alignment with business goals and automated workflows.
  • Build: Oversee feature execution and drive rigorous usability testing, collaborating with GTMS, Sales Ops, and AI + Data Analytics teams.
  • Launch: Coordinate all aspects of release, including change management, enablement programs, and documentation for seamless field adoption.
  • Adopt & Iterate: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs and adoption metrics) to measure business impact and inform rapid roadmap iterations.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5-8 years of Customer Support tooling experience in a fast-paced SaaS environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • AI Platform Experience: Proven experience managing AI support tools or LLM-based platforms (e.g., Decagon, Happy Robot, Intercom Fin, or similar).
  • Established subject matter expert in GTM tooling, with a history of delivering substantial impact across multiple tools
  • Ability to translate complex customer and business problems into clear requirements and solutions.
  • Experience with leveraging AI to solve high-impact business problems
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to look at large datasets of conversation logs to identify patterns and root causes of technical failures.

About the role:

The Senior Security Engineer I - Enterprise Security is responsible for building, operating, and maintaining Samsara’s core security infrastructure. You will collaborate with a global team of engineers to help build a world-class security engineering program utilizing modern principles across corporate infrastructure.

You take security seriously and strive to build low-friction solutions developed in close partnership with others. You are passionate about building automated alerting and response capabilities and helping to drive insights around potentially malicious activity within production environments. You enjoy building tools and workflows from scratch, maintaining active programs, and threading security into company processes to meet business needs. You will use your familiarity with a diverse set of technologies and practices to build a leading program in our industry. You enjoy teaching and supporting team members, and helping junior engineers develop their skills and security instincts.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Nevada, and Washington. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide influence and leadership over Samsara’s Enterprise Security roadmap and priorities, helping to balance both near-term and long-term business impact with technical considerations.
  • Write clear, concise documentation and runbooks for enterprise security workflows.
  • Collaborate with partners across Engineering, IT, and Security to ensure proper implementation of security tools and policies.
  • Occasionally assist the Security Operations team during security investigations, acting as a technical subject matter expert within your domain.
  • Partner with engineering teams to triage and support remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in systems and applications.
  • Mentor engineers in the Security team to grow their domain knowledge, tool-specific skills, and communication abilities.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Security role with demonstrated impact.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise security engineering best practices, with a focus on SASE tools like Zscaler.
  • Strong scripting skills with Python, including experience building tools and automations.
  • Demonstrated experience building, integrating, and maintaining enterprise security tools.
  • Strong familiarity with common security problems and the ability to independently judge their severity and impact on the business.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Tines, AWS Lambda) and common security platforms (e.g., Crowdstrike, Zscaler, Wiz).
  • Track record of delivering impactful work across multiple quarters and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Resides in the Pacific or Hawaii time zones.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience driving efforts around zero trust, least privilege, just-in-time access management, identity lifecycle management, and data loss prevention.
  • A history of building out security programs using modern SaaS platforms such as Crowdstrike, Mimecast Incydr, Splunk, and other tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code deployments using Terraform

In this role, you will:

  • Provide influence and leadership over Samsara’s Enterprise Security roadmap and priorities, helping to balance both near-term and long-term business impact with technical considerations.
  • Write clear, concise documentation and runbooks for enterprise security workflows.
  • Collaborate with partners across Engineering, IT, and Security to ensure proper implementation of security tools and policies.
  • Occasionally assist the Security Operations team during security investigations, acting as a technical subject matter expert within your domain.
  • Partner with engineering teams to triage and support remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in systems and applications.
  • Mentor engineers in the Security team to grow their domain knowledge, tool-specific skills, and communication abilities.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Security role with demonstrated impact.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise security engineering best practices, with a focus on SASE tools like Zscaler.
  • Strong scripting skills with Python, including experience building tools and automations.
  • Demonstrated experience building, integrating, and maintaining enterprise security tools.
  • Strong familiarity with common security problems and the ability to independently judge their severity and impact on the business.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Tines, AWS Lambda) and common security platforms (e.g., Crowdstrike, Zscaler, Wiz).
  • Track record of delivering impactful work across multiple quarters and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Resides in the Pacific or Hawaii time zones.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience driving efforts around zero trust, least privilege, just-in-time access management, identity lifecycle management, and data loss prevention.
  • A history of building out security programs using modern SaaS platforms such as Crowdstrike, Mimecast Incydr, Splunk, and other tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code deployments using Terraform

About the Role

The Pipeline Programs team defines the overarching strategy and playbooks that empower our sellers to generate high-quality pipeline and drive sustainable revenue growth. In this role, you will:

  • Drive Pipeline Intelligence: Analyze pipeline & program health, establish pipeline program targets, and forecast coverage to ensure global sales targets are met.
  • Strategize Target Account Selection: Build "propensity-to-buy" lists for global sales blitzes and provide comprehensive post-event impact analysis.
  • Act as a Strategic Partner: Provide Sales Leaders and Program Managers with ad-hoc insights into campaign performance and regional trends.
  • Own the Source of Truth: Serve as the primary SFDC owner for all pipeline dashboards, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Narrate Performance: Design QBR decks and weekly executive summaries that explain the "why" behind the numbers.

Minimum Requirements for the role

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or Business Analyst roles within a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) reporting and dashboarding is required. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (Pivot tables, complex formulas) are a must. Codex proficiency highly preferred
  • GTM Fluency: A foundational understanding of the "Lead-to-Renewal" lifecycle, pipeline coverage ratios, and sales development motions.
  • Analytical Storytelling: Proven ability to synthesize complex data sets into clear, executive-level presentations (Slides/Powerpoint).

About the role:

Samsara’s Automation team enables fast, high-quality software releases by building reliable test tools and frameworks, identifying opportunities to improve developer experience, and engaging cross-functionally to resolve key issues. In this role, a successful candidate will help build our Automation Test Framework. Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Five years of experience developing software, bonus points for emphasis on testing/software tools for product development and validation.
  • Understanding of tradeoffs between efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Extensive experience in code reviews, especially cross-functional/cross-discipline.
  • Experience creating and implementing hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
  • Technical understanding of communication protocols (TCP, UART, and wireless).
  • Ability to design and develop hardware infrastructure for test applications. (e.g. power measurement tools, RF testing, etc.).
  • Experience with test instrumentation, including the use of power supplies, power analyzers, battery simulators, call boxes, and GPS simulators.
  • Experience working and developing within a Linux environment.

  • Demonstrated success building and deploying production-ready AI/ML applications, particularly in generative AI (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG systems).
  • Expert in Python and GenAI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI SDK, MCP, etc.)
  • Experience developing backend systems and APIs, and working closely with product and design to ship customer-facing features.
  • Strong product sense and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Located in and authorized to work in the United States (this is a fully remote role).

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience working on AI products in a sales, go-to-market, or revenue operations context.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools like Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, or similar CRM/enablement platforms.
  • Experience integrating with vector databases, retrieval systems, or streaming voice/chat pipelines.
  • A track record of leading major technical initiatives or mentoring engineers in high-growth teams.
  • Exposure to infrastructure considerations such as cost optimization, model evaluation, observability, and latency management.
