The Opportunity

We currently have an opening for a Senior Human Factors Engineer for our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. This role is located at our Sylmar, CA location.

As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Management, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

What You’ll Work On

The Senior Human Factors Engineer represents the Human Factors Engineering discipline on multiple programs, operating with moderate supervision while independently managing assigned Human Factors scope. Has the ability to take an increasingly independent role in support of larger programs, serving as a key stakeholder on cross-functional R&D teams. Demonstrates strength in select Human Factors Engineering skills. Leads the development of Human Factors lifecycle documentation such as Use Specifications, Use-Related Risk Analysis, Formative Protocols/Reports, Summative Protocols/Reports, and Usability Engineering Files with increasingly limited supervision. Plans and conducts customer and competitive research to: identify, prioritize, and develop new projects; create detailed design improvement plans/concepts; and lead internal/external design and development resources. Applies Human-centered Design and Human Factors Engineering principles, collaborating closely with UI/UX partners to support the evaluation and solution of complex product design problems. Consistently monitors professional landscape for usability process improvement opportunities. Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work; monitors and reports status to manager.

  • Represents the Human Factors Engineering function and perspective on core teams – strongly advocating for user and customer centricity through optimal design.
  • Creates and revises accurate documentation related to the Human Factors & Usability Engineering Process for multiple projects with a higher level of independence, including but not limited to: Usability Engineering Plans, Use Specifications, Use-related risk analyses, Usability Study Protocols & Reports, and Usability Engineering Files.
  • Interfaces and builds rapport with a complex network of users including expert customer HCPs, translating feedback from these users into actionable design improvements for the project team.
  • Defines, leads, and conducts usability testing from early product prototyping to product validation studies.
  • Creates detailed design improvement concepts and effectively communicates the value of those concepts to the project teams. Works across product lines and internal departments to create and manage usability evaluation and/or improvement plans.
  • Investigates and defines usability requirements for new product/feature development and facilitates the translation into new projects through usability testing.
  • Identifies and analyzes use errors and issues for medical devices and translates these into specific system risk mitigations.
  • Simulates or tests aspects of new projects to evaluate prototypes and optimizes the user experience.
  • Applies Human Factors, User Experience, User Research, and Human-centered Design principles to determine optimal Human Factors strategies, optimal user interface designs, optimal study designs, and optimal research goals for projects.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Keeps updated on and ensures documents adhere to current Regulatory Guidelines on medical device Human Factors, including: FDA Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Medical Devices, NMPA Guidelines for Usability Engineering of Medical Devices, IEC 62366, and ANSI/AAMI HE75.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required Experience

  • BS/BA Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human-computer Interaction, Human Factors Psychology, Human Centered Design, Industrial Design, UI/UX Design/Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in medical device development (or related industry) with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 year of relevant work experience in medical device development (or related industry) with a Master’s Degree, etc.
  • Experience with applying understanding of human factors and/or usability engineering to issues to complete deliverables within assigned projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate information from varied disciplines including R&D Engineering, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability

  • Clinical experience with Cardiac Rhythm Management devices (e.g., leadless pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, leads, catheters, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Physician interaction preferred.
  • Experience moderating/conducting Usability studies or User Research studies preferred.
  • Medical device experience preferred.

Summary of This Role

The Lead, AI Testing & Monitoring is a senior technical and governance role responsible for independently validating and continuously monitoring AI/ML models to ensure they meet enterprise standards for robustness, fairness, transparency, and compliance.

As part of the Enterprise Data & AI Governance Program, this role supports the Responsible Use of AI (RUAI) framework by designing and executing rigorous validation protocols, deploying advanced monitoring capabilities, and leveraging AI governance tools and platforms to track, report, and remediate risks throughout the AI lifecycle.

The Lead will work closely with Data Science, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams to assess AI model performance, conduct bias and fairness audits, implement explainability techniques, and ensure adherence to ethical AI principles and applicable regulatory requirements. This role also serves as a technical authority on model reliability, security, and operational risk, providing actionable recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Sr. Network Automation Engineer

A Sr. Network Automation Engineer will be responsible  to  bridge traditional network engineering, software designed networking (ACI)  and software development. Their primary mission is to replace manual, error-prone network configuration and management tasks with programmatic, scalable solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Development: Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to automate the provisioning, configuration, and patching of network devices.
  • CI/CD Integration: Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines specifically for network code to ensure rigorous testing and validation before production deployment.
  • Standardization: Define and enforce network standards across multi-vendor environments (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, F5) using automation to prevent "configuration drift".
  • Monitoring & Observability: Develop automated telemetry and analytics solutions (using tools like Prometheus or Grafana) to proactively identify and remediate network issues.

Summary of This Role

The Analyst, Data Security and Privacy role is an exciting opportunity to bring about data driven transformation and drive execution of enterprise-wide governance and management of data assets.
As a member of the Enterprise Data & AI Governance (EDAiG) program, the Analyst, Data Security and Privacy role is responsible for executing data asset management standards and driving adoption of the data asset management framework, with an emphasis on working with enterprise, data, and business stakeholders to identify and highlight where sensitive data exists within the organization. The Analyst will leverage tools and collaborate with Information Security to provide visibility into on-premises and cloud-hosted data stores, classify data, and validate security controls in-place to secure data at-rest. The Analyst will also collaborate with Privacy to confirm where personal data is stored/processed, determine data subject categorization, capture business purpose/need associated with processing activities, and implement data minimization practices (i.e., retention and destruction).
The Analyst will also lead the implementation of the enterprise Issue Management Standard on behalf of the EDAiG program for identified data risk and issues. The Analyst will coordinate with business, data, and risk stakeholders to execute issue management processes, including identification, intake, analysis, prioritization, remediation/acceptance, and closure of identified gaps. The Analyst is a visible role across the enterprise, engaging with business, technology, and corporate functions to define and document data requirements, collect artifacts and streamline practices, research and curate documentation, and implement process improvements.

  • Assist the EDAiG program in working with Information Security, Privacy, Data Owners/Stewards/Custodians, Risk, Compliance, IT, Legal, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to inventory, prioritize, manage, remediate, and monitor data risks and issues.
  • Serve as the EDAiG program’s primary representative for intake, classification, and rating of data risks and issues identified via assessments, EDAiG technology (e.g., sensitive data discovery scans), the enterprise Self-Identified Risk Process, and other risk management activities.
  • Support the initial review and vetting of newly discovered data quality issues (e.g., identified via data quality rules, checks, and assessments), including working with Business Unit Data Stewards, EDAiG team members, and associated business stakeholders to determine the appropriate prioritization, rating, and system for entry/tracking (e.g., Jira, Rally, Archer, etc.).
  • Manage the documentation of identified data risk and issues within RSA Archer as the Issue Author, including entering initial/known issue date, assigning issue/remediation/acceptance ownership, and populating other necessary metadata (i.e., source, description, risk, business unit, related assets and processes, etc.) in the Issue record and associated Remediation or Acceptance records.
  • Provide oversight of data risk and issues within RSA Archer by obtaining/reviewing initial treatment plans, monitoring remediation status and requesting updates, monitoring risk acceptances approaching expiration and initiating the extension process, and approving risk acceptances and extensions.
  • Work with Issue Owners, Remediation Plan Owners, Remediation SMEs, and EDAiG team members to approve the closure of risk acceptances, confirming issue remediation, and approving issue closure.
  • Work with BU team and EDAiG leadership to define and provide key metrics for reporting, escalation, and communication of data risk and issue status, remediation timelines, and aging/overdue remediation/acceptance plans, milestones, and due dates.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the EDAiG team to improve data documentation and drive continuous improvement of the data governance process, with a specific focus and emphasis on data risk and issue management.
  • Participate in risk and issue management forums, working groups, and intake review cadences to ensure appropriate implementation of and adherence to the enterprise Issue Management Standard.

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $146,600-$172,400 /year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $293,100-$344,800/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full and part-time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
