About the Role:

As the Technical Program Manager (TPM) within our pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing life-changing treatments for rare diseases, you will serve as a strategic bridge between our IT teams and Commercial business stakeholders. Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Leads technical initiatives within Neurocrine’s EDS function, driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic technology objectives and business outcomes
  • Partners with Business and IT stakeholders to define EDS product strategy, develop roadmaps, and own successful delivery
  • Drive clear definition of data platform and product features in the IT backlog that support distributed Data Products, Product Owners and Project Managers (POs & PMs)

About the Role:

Responsible for design, build, administration and support of the enterprise connectivity solutions, focusing on Cisco-based technologies including Software-Defined Access (SDA), SD-WAN, and wireless campus fabrics.

The Senior Director of Data Platforms and Research Solutions is accountable for the strategy, delivery, reliability, and adoption of Neurocrine Biosciences’ enterprise data platforms.   • Establish and enforce platform standards for architecture, security, reliability, performance, and cost management.
  • Drive operational excellence across the data platform ecosystem, including availability, incident management, SLAs, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Make build/buy/partner decisions for data technologies and vendors and manage strategic vendor relationships.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security to ensure platforms meet zero-trust and defense-in-depth principles.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical and organizational execution plans.
  • Partner with business leaders, data science, analytics, engineering, security, and compliance teams to ensure platforms enable high value use cases and sustained adoption.
  • Develop and manage budgets, headcount planning, and investment prioritization for data platforms.
  • Build a strong leadership bench by hiring, coaching, mentoring, and retaining senior engineering and platform leaders.
  • Act as an executive level evangelist for modern data platforms and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical or quantitative field and 13+ years of progressively responsible experience in data, platform, or software engineering roles, including leadership of large scale data ecosystems OR;
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical or quantitative field and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in data, platform, or software engineering roles, including leadership of large scale data ecosystems
  • Proven experience owning and scaling enterprise data platforms in Pharmaceutical settings.
  • Deep understanding of modern cloud data architectures and patterns.
  • Strong leadership experience managing managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance speed, quality, security, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and access control.
  • Track record of driving measurable platform adoption and business value.
  • Executive level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate across strategy and execution without losing accountability.
  • Strong organizational leadership and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent prioritization, decision making, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and competing demands.
  • Clear ownership mindset.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $186,400.00-$351,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
