As a Wireless RF OTA Connectivity Systems Engineer within the Wireless System and Compliance Engineering team, you will drive connectivity performance across WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, and UWB technologies. You will work at the intersection of wireless technology evaluation and product integration to define, characterize, and optimize system performance for various products. Your daily responsibilities include performing link budget analysis through simulation and measurement, architecting testbeds to identify key performance indicators, and executing validation plans to close hardware and software gaps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause analysis and design improvements while representing product goals in standardization venues. Required expertise includes 802.11ax, 802.11ac, Wi-Fi 6E, GNSS, or Bluetooth protocols. Technical skills include MATLAB for modeling, experience with RF test equipment, and familiarity with tools like iPerf or Octoscope to ensure high-quality wireless experiences.
Define and characterize connectivity performance across WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, and UWB technologies.
Translate carrier, regulatory, and industry requirements into technical system specifications.
Analyze link budgets through simulation, emulation, and measurement to impact feature performance.
Architect and maintain advanced testbeds and controlled environments to identify key performance indicators.
Develop and execute validation plans to identify and close hardware and software performance gaps.
Perform root cause analysis to drive design improvements for product quality.
Represent company goals in standardization venues and mentor engineers on testing solutions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in EE or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Master's Degree in EE or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience (preferred).
Experience in development, characterization, and commercialization of RF/Antenna systems for wireless products.
Solid understanding of wireless system concepts and performance evaluation in at least one technology: 802.11ax, 802.11ac, Wi-Fi 6E, GNSS, UWB, or Bluetooth.
Solid understanding of PHY layer and MAC/application layer protocols.
Solid understanding of end-to-end link budget and wireless propagation.
Hands-on modeling experience using at least one simulation tool such as MATLAB, HFSS, CST, or ANSOFT.
Experience with RF characterization, antenna design, test equipment, throughput measurement tools, and chipset architecture (preferred).
