The VP, Engineering - Data Center CPU Software will lead the software, firmware, platform enablement, and system architecture for Qualcomm’s server-class SoCs. Joining the Software Engineering group, this leader will oversee the end-to-end software roadmap to scale data center systems from silicon bring-up through hyperscaler deployment. Key responsibilities include driving strategy for CPU platform firmware, power and performance management, OS and hypervisor integration, BMC and platform management, telemetry, orchestration, and verification. The role requires expertise in compilers, runtimes, and cloud-native infrastructure to support networking fabrics and storage integration. The successful candidate will manage a global engineering organization, establishing best practices for release quality and platform stability. This position solves complex technical challenges regarding performance determinism and energy efficiency for enterprise data center deployments.
Lead software architecture, development, and integration for data center platforms including CPUs, networking, and cluster-scale infrastructure.
Own the end-to-end software roadmap for platform firmware, orchestration, telemetry, and customer deployment readiness.
Drive software strategy across networking fabrics, storage integration, and cloud-native infrastructure for hyperscaler deployments.
Build and scale a global software engineering organization with high execution discipline and technical depth.
Establish engineering best practices, quality gates, and release disciplines to ensure platform stability and performance.
Serve as the senior technical engagement point for strategic customers, hyperscalers, and internal executive stakeholders.
Translate complex software and system-level trade-offs into clear execution plans and strategic decisions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field of study.
Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field of study (preferred).
Fifteen or more years of software engineering, systems software, infrastructure software, or data center platform development experience.
Twenty or more years of software engineering, systems software, infrastructure software, or data center platform development experience (preferred).
Six or more years of leadership experience managing software engineering teams, technical leaders, and complex cross-functional execution.
Ten or more years of leadership experience managing software engineering teams, technical leaders, and complex cross-functional execution (preferred).
Demonstrated competencies in strategic execution, coaching and development, impactful innovation, and clear communication.
Ability to lead software architecture, development, and integration for data center platforms including CPU, networking, and cluster-scale infrastructure.
