VP, Cloud Solution Architect leads the strategic design of a large-scale enterprise data ecosystem in the cloud to support both operational and analytic objectives. The individual will build reusable migration frameworks and promote cloud-native capabilities like data lakehouse, data mesh, and event-driven architectures. Key responsibilities include managing trade-off decisions regarding security controls, cost optimization, and query performance while mentoring engineering teams on integration patterns. The role requires expertise in AWS or GCP platforms, containerized microservices, and automation tools to manage sensitive data within a highly regulated environment. Essential skills include experience with identity and access management, data warehousing, and advanced analytics to solve complex problems regarding data accessibility and high-availability infrastructure for the organization.
Lead the strategic design and modernization of the enterprise cloud data ecosystem.
Define target-state architecture, consumption patterns, and design standards for scalable data platforms.
Develop reusable migration frameworks and architectural principles for secure, governed cloud data solutions.
Evaluate trade-offs across cloud-native services, storage models, security controls, and cost optimization.
Partner with stakeholders to identify modernization opportunities and improve the usability of enterprise data products.
Translate complex architecture decisions into clear business value and implementation roadmaps for cross-functional teams.
Provide technical mentorship to architects and engineering teams on cloud-native design and emerging trends.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Management, or a related field.
8 years of experience in information technology, data architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, or related roles (or 10 years without a degree).
5 years of experience designing, modernizing, or migrating data platforms in cloud environments.
Experience with cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, lakehouse architectures, and identity and access management.
Expertise in defining target-state architecture, modernization roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containerized/microservices ecosystems, and automation tools.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
Ability to work with globally located teams and travel for business as required.
