As a Vision Pro Display Technology Engineer, you will serve as a focal point for defining next-generation architecture for Apple Vision products. Your daily responsibilities involve comparing and scoping display and optics technologies while analyzing trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, and cost. You will define detailed specifications for display panels, driving ASICs, software and firmware algorithms, and test or calibration procedures. The role requires hands-on prototyping, hardware and silicon definition, and system characterization. Key technical competencies include display backplane design, display pipelines, image processing, digital signal processing, and electrical or optical modeling. You will also utilize skills in optics, device physics, and machine learning to improve display performance and user experience through theoretical analysis and experimental prototyping for various display technologies.
Compare and scope display and optics technologies while analyzing trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, and cost.
Define architecture for new display technologies based on system requirements, optical behavior, and human perception.
Create detailed specifications for display panels, driving ASICs, software/firmware algorithms, and test procedures.
Perform hands-on characterization and prototyping of new hardware and silicon components.
Develop software and algorithms to improve display performance and user experience.
Conduct theoretical analysis and system modeling for display and optical components.
Create concept demos to present new technologies to executives.
What we're looking for
Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree.
Experience in display backplane design, display pipeline, image processing, digital signal processing, and/or display architecture electrical and optical modeling.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3 years of relevant proven experience (preferred).
Good communication and leadership skills with experience collaborating across internal teams and vendors (preferred).
Capability in theoretical analysis, system characterization, and modeling (preferred).
Hands-on experimental ability with prototyping experience (preferred).
Experience in optics, device physics, or machine learning (preferred).
