As a Vision Pro Display Technology Engineer, you will serve as the focal point for defining next-generation architecture for Apple Vision products. Your daily responsibilities involve comparing and scoping display and optics technologies while analyzing trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, and cost. You will define detailed specifications for display panels, driving ASICs, software and firmware algorithms, and test or calibration procedures. The role requires hands-on characterization, prototyping, and the ability to develop concepts for executive demonstrations. Key technical competencies include experience in display backplane design, display pipelines, image processing, digital signal processing, and electrical or optical modeling. Additional expertise in optics, device physics, or machine learning is preferred. You will work to improve display performance and user experience by navigating complex requirements involving system behavior and human perception within the vision product space.
Compare and scope display and optics technologies based on performance, manufacturability, and cost.
Define architecture for new display technologies considering system requirements, optical behavior, and human perception.
Create detailed specifications for display panels, driving ASICs, software/firmware algorithms, and calibration procedures.
Conduct hands-on characterization and prototyping of hardware and silicon components.
Develop software and algorithm solutions to improve display performance and user experience.
Perform theoretical analysis, system modeling, and experimental testing of new technologies.
Present concept demonstrations and technical innovations to executive leadership.
What we're looking for
A bachelor's degree is required.
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
At least 3 years of relevant proven experience is preferred.
Experience in display backplane design, display pipeline, image processing, digital signal processing, and/or display architecture electrical and optical modeling is required.
Capability in theoretical analysis, system characterization, and modeling is preferred.
Hands-on experimental ability with prototyping experience is preferred.
Experience in optics, device physics, or machine learning is a plus.
Good communication and leadership skills for collaborating across internal teams and vendors are preferred.
