The Vice President, Reliability serves within the CTO, Software organization to define and lead the reliability strategy for shared platform services. This executive leader manages a high-performing team of engineers focused on ensuring that platforms across developer experience, data and AI, security, and infrastructure are highly available, resilient, and performant at a global scale. Key responsibilities include establishing site reliability engineering practices, overseeing observability platforms including metrics and logs, managing incident response, and driving performance and scalability engineering through load testing and capacity forecasting. The role requires expertise in cloud-native systems, AI-enabled SRE, and automated operational intelligence to reduce risk and improve customer trust. The candidate will navigate a complex multi-domain environment to build reliable systems for products used by millions of customers while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and accountability.
Define and lead the reliability vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for shared platform services across infrastructure, security, and AI.
Build and lead a high-performing organization of engineers focused on reliability, observability, performance, and resilience.
Establish and scale modern site reliability engineering (SRE) practices including error budgets, service-level objectives, and production readiness reviews.
Lead the observability platform strategy to provide metrics, logs, traces, and telemetry standards for developer tools.
Manage incident response operations, including major incident command, escalation models, and fault-injection testing.
Drive performance and scalability engineering through load testing, latency optimization, and capacity forecasting for critical services.
Implement operational intelligence and automation by applying AI to improve reliability engineering and automated responses.
Partner with executive leadership to embed reliability standards into the architecture and delivery of the software lifecycle.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
Current or prior experience operating at the VP level in engineering within an established technology company.
15+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, platform, or reliability engineering.
8+ years leading engineering organizations through senior leadership roles.
Proven success building and scaling high-performing engineering teams for large, complex product or platform environments.
Experience leading reliability or platform engineering in a global technology company operating at significant scale.
Experience applying AI and automation to software operations, incident response, and engineering productivity.
Deep expertise in modern cloud-native systems and platform operations across infrastructure, data & AI, security, or developer platforms.
