Vice President, Digital Engineering Health100 leads cross-functional engineering capabilities for the Health100 platform, focusing on digital identity, account management, payments, solutions engineering, and AI solutions. This leader manages a large team of engineers to build features like registration, authentication, and payment flows while ensuring PCI-DSS compliance and production reliability through defined SLOs and SLAs. The role involves partnering with Product leadership to co-own the roadmap and translating business requirements into technical designs using microservices, APIs, and cloud-native platforms. Key responsibilities include scaling Generative AI capabilities, such as conversational assistants and intelligent workflow automation, while ensuring high availability for transaction-based systems. Co-author the Health100 roadmap and capability definitions in direct partnership with Product leadership.
Lead engineering for digital identity, account management, and secure authentication systems.
Oversee digital payment infrastructure including transaction reliability and PCI-DSS compliance.
Manage the Solutions Engineering function to translate business requirements into technical designs and reusable frameworks.
Build and scale Generative AI and agentic capabilities for automated workflows and conversational assistants.
Ensure production reliability by defining SLOs/SLAs and leading incident response across all platforms.
Drive rapid iteration and pragmatic build/buy decisions in a regulated healthcare environment.
Manage a large engineering organization while fostering a culture of ownership and high-speed delivery.
What we're looking for
15+ years of experience in digital software development and engineering.
10+ years of experience in technology leadership, including managing financials, goals, and operational metrics.
Background as a hands-on software engineer or architect with continued fluency in code and system design.
Experience leading multiple engineering teams totaling over 100 resources across various time zones and cultures.
Expertise in software architecture, APIs, microservices, cloud-native platforms, and DevSecOps for high-availability systems.
Experience with digital identity management (OAuth 2.0/OIDC), payment systems (PCI-DSS compliance), and AI/ML solutions including RAG and agent orchestration.
Proven ability to partner with Product teams to shape roadmaps and convert enterprise strategy into system-level deliverables.
Startup or high-growth experience, and healthcare or digital health experience (preferred).
