The Traffic Modeling System Engineer for Missile Tracking joins a cross-functional team to design traffic data models for the Space Development Agency Ground, Management and Integration program. This role focuses on the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, where you will develop and deploy ground operational systems. Key responsibilities include decomposing requirements into traffic data flow models from satellite constellations to ground networks, scheduling satellite services for missile tracking, and analyzing tracking data to validate models. You will identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement. Required technical skills include experience with satellite to ground RF communication protocols, end-to-end packet prioritization, routing, and traffic modeling. Preferred competencies include sensor fusion techniques, cloud technologies, image processing, and experience with missile tracking systems design and architecture.
Decompose requirements into models of traffic data flow from satellite constellations to ground networks.
Design traffic data models for the Space Development Agency Ground, Management and Integration program.
Schedule pre-planned or ad-hoc satellite services to track missiles.
Analyze missile tracking data to validate the accuracy of the traffic model.
Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous system improvement and innovation.
Manage the evolution, expansion, integration, and testing of ground operational systems.
Support infrastructure management including development, systems engineering, and site support.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field.
Must have 8+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must possess a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with Polygraph eligibility.
Agile experience (preferred).
Recent modeling of communication data using satellite constellations and ground networks (preferred).
Recent Satellite to Ground RF communication protocol experience, end-to-end packet prioritization and routing, or traffic modeling experience (preferred).
Recent experience with missile tracking systems design, architecture, sensor fusion, cloud technologies, or image processing (preferred).
