Test Engineer II - ENT works within the ENT business unit to develop advanced technologies for treating ear, nose, and throat disorders. This role focuses on the development, integration, verification, and validation of complex electromechanical medical device systems. You will be responsible for creating and executing verification and validation test plans, designing automated or semi-automated test fixtures, and performing system-level testing in laboratory environments. The position involves investigating hardware and software defects, conducting design reviews, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key technical skills include experience with LabVIEW, data acquisition systems, and PCB layout review. You will utilize tools such as Codebeamer, PLM, ALM, and CAD/MCAD to manage the product lifecycle. The role addresses the critical challenge of providing clinicians with precise tools for diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions in both office and surgical settings.
Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) test plans, protocols, analyses, and reports for medical device components.
Integrate software, electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical subsystems to perform testing in development and simulated environments.
Design, develop, and maintain automated or semi-automated test fixtures, emulators, and non-product software.
Evaluate design inputs and requirements to establish verification strategies and regulatory-compliant quality artifacts.
Identify, document, investigate, and track hardware and software defects discovered during manual and automated testing.
Support the specification, integration, and bring-up of custom electronics and data acquisition systems for test platforms.
Participate in code, design, and technical reviews to improve testability and requirements coverage.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with no experience required.
Experience is required in developing and executing test methods, verification activities, or validation activities for electromechanical, software-enabled, or regulated products.
Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, product testing, data collection, and technical troubleshooting is required.
Candidates must have experience creating technical documentation such as test protocols, reports, requirements traceability, design reviews, or validation records.
Candidates must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
Experience within the medical device, aerospace, or other regulated product development environment is preferred.
Experience using LabVIEW or similar test automation tools to develop automated test solutions is preferred.
Experience with PCB design, layout review, electronics bring-up, or calibration activities is preferred.
