The Technical Support Engineer, Developer Platform joins the Customer Support team to assist developers, startups, and enterprise engineering teams building production applications. You will own technical support cases from investigation to resolution, troubleshooting builds, deployments, runtime errors, and resource limits. Daily tasks include replicating reported issues in sandbox environments, analyzing platform logs, and guiding customers on enabling observability and tracing. You will build and improve diagnostic scripts, documentation, and AI-assisted workflows. Required skills include experience with web applications, APIs, and cloud services, alongside proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Bash, SQL, and Linux command-line tools like curl and dig. You must possess a strong understanding of HTTP(S), DNS, SSL/TLS, and caching to resolve complex issues across Cloudflare Workers, R2, D1, and other platform services.
Own technical support cases from initial investigation through resolution via email, chat, and phone.
Troubleshoot builds, deployments, runtime errors, resource limits, routing, and bindings to storage or APIs.
Replicate reported behavior in sandbox environments and analyze platform logs to isolate root causes.
Partner with Engineering on escalations by providing clear reproduction steps and diagnostic evidence.
Define and update runbooks, AI skills, conversational journeys, and technical documentation.
Improve diagnostic scripts, tools, and test examples to accelerate troubleshooting for the team.
Prioritize concurrent cases by customer impact and provide clear handoffs across different time zones.
Report reproducible bugs to Product and Engineering teams to improve product reliability.
What we're looking for
Must be able to work from the Austin, Texas office twice a week.
Must be available to work a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday rotation starting at 11:00 AM Central Time.
3-5 years of experience in technical customer support, developer support, or a similar role troubleshooting web applications, cloud services, or APIs (preferred).
Ability to write or modify small scripts in JavaScript, Python, Bash, or a similar language (preferred).
Strong understanding of HTTP(S), DNS, SSL/TLS, caching, and web request flows (preferred).
Comfort working in Linux or Unix-like environments with command-line tools and browser developer tools (preferred).
Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, authentication headers, and basic SQL queries (preferred).
Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
