JOB TITLE: Technical Manager – AI Software and Transformation
The Technical Manager – AI Software and Transformation joins the Compute Performance business unit to lead the regional strategy for integrating artificial intelligence across engineering, product development, and business processes. This role involves coaching associates through the transition from classical software development to AI-assisted workflows while defining architectures for deploying AI into performance computers, including cockpit and ADAS solutions. Key responsibilities include advising on AI investments, driving alignment between software engineering and validation stakeholders, and promoting scalable processes for testing, debugging, and performance optimization. The position requires expertise in embedded systems, machine learning, and the automotive V-model. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in MLOps, DevOps, CI/CD, and deploying models on CPU, GPU, NPU, or heterogeneous SoC environments within safety-relevant automotive product environments.
Define and implement the regional strategy for AI use across engineering, product development, and business processes.
Coach associates through the transition from classical software development to AI-assisted roles and methodologies.
Advise the business unit on AI-related investments, organizational development, and capability building.
Create concepts and architectures for deploying AI into performance computers, cockpit, and ADAS solutions.
Provide technical expertise and customer-facing guidance on AI software and embedded AI topics for acquisition activities.
Drive alignment between software engineering, embedded systems, AI development, validation, and product management stakeholders.
Promote scalable processes and best practices for AI-assisted software development, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
What we're looking for
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
5+ years of professional experience in automotive software, embedded systems, or a closely related technical field.
3+ years of experience contributing to or leading large-scale global engineering projects across cross-functional teams.
1+ year of artificial intelligence or machine learning technical integration and steering for global product development.
Demonstrated experience deploying AI solutions into embedded systems, preferably in automotive or safety-relevant product environments (preferred).
Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, validating, debugging, tracing, and analyzing performance for embedded AI products.
Experience with traditional automotive product development through the complete V-model, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation, and release.
Demonstrated ability to lead the transition from classical software development methods to AI-assisted development approaches.
