What you'll do

Manage a team of 4–5 engineers by handling hiring, coaching, and professional development.
Write and ship code for high-leverage projects while maintaining an active role in technical execution.
Review pull requests and lead design reviews to ensure high standards for quality and maintainability.
Define the technical direction for the deals and offers platform, including discovery and redemption features.
Drive architectural decisions to ensure the backend systems remain reliable, scalable, and well-instrumented.
Manage partner and merchant integrations by collaborating with external vendors and internal engineering teams.
Partner with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to turn experiments into durable member value.
Oversee operational health, including on-call rotations and incident response management.

What we're looking for

You must have at least 2 years of experience in people management, including hiring and developing engineers.
You must possess current, hands-on coding ability to contribute to features and perform pull request reviews.
You must be fluent with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
You must have a strong technical foundation to guide architecture and make high-level technical decisions.
You should have experience shipping consumer product features and running experiments to measure impact.
You should have experience with service-oriented architectures and building backend platforms at scale.
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React Native, AWS, and distributed systems is preferred.
You must possess strong cross-functional collaboration skills to partner with Product, Design, and Analytics teams.
