Systems Debug Engineer, Data Center HWE

What you'll do

• Analyze, reproduce, and root-cause complex hardware, firmware, and interconnect issues across the product lifecycle.
• Build, maintain, and debug custom and OEM data center hardware for multiple development programs.
• Pilot proof-of-concept hardware and software to prepare new platforms for at-scale data center deployment.
• Develop scripts and tools to provision hardware, analyze large datasets, and run benchmarking frameworks.
• Set up pre-production hardware, perform functional checks, and document results for early product development.
• Create reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate debug findings and status to leadership.
• Test hardware under various environmental conditions to monitor power and temperature performance.

What we're looking for

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–8 years of experience in systems engineering, hardware integration, or manufacturing engineering in a server or HPC environment.
• Hands-on experience with SoC troubleshooting, board-level debug, failure analysis, and diagnostics for interconnects, memory, and power management.
• Experience working in lab environments at scale.
• Strong server architecture expertise, including component firmware upgrade processes.
• Hardware, firmware, and OS-level debugging experience using SEL, kernel logs, system logs, and debug commands.
• Working knowledge of provisioning and boot processes including UEFI, DHCP, DNS, and PXE/Netboot.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and validation workflows.
• MS degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience (preferred).
• NPI experience with data center server hardware, custom ASICs/SoCs, or high-density server environments (preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting hardware/firmware issues manifesting as software problems (preferred).
